Speaking at Kennedy Center Playwright Initiatives PanelThis weekend, Joanna spoke on a panel about playwright-led initiatives, including her new production company Wait Don’t Leave. Other sessions included fundraising, social media, and self-producing.

  1. Hi Joanna, Gwydion probably went into the work The Welders are doing there in Washington. In Boston, there is Boston Public Works, a company of nine playwrights based on the model 13P established. Taking control of your artistic career and circumventing the traditional theater model in the same way many musicians have eschewed labels, not only is one way playwrights can eliminate a lot of the anxiety that makes up their artistic lives, but it also is good for the American theater because it gets out work that might otherwise not be seen for so many reasons.
