Joanna’s latest play The Storehouse received a developmental reading at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference this June along with a performance of her new short play The Being Heard Academy.
The Storehouse is a two-woman, full-length play about the real-life conflict between Harriet Jacobs and Harriet Beecher Stowe as they both began their writing careers. It has two more developmental readings this summer in Anchorage and Los Angeles.
The Being Heard Academy is a 10-minute play about an elite academy that teaches privileged students how to make their voices known. The Academy has run the exact same way for thousands of years, but now the admission of women and minorities may change everything.
Along with these two plays, Joanna also presented her monologues “Basic Brit” and “Voire Dire.”
